Individuals acting for a common cause create a community. The design of one becomes the artwork of many. Pistart: paint the mountain.
The concept has its roots in the skateboarding community, which has many parallels to the snowboarding scene including the people, the styles of dress and music, as well as both groups being outcasts by society – both historically being banned from their playing ground - Painting the concrete jungle as artistic expression.
The answer is taken to the hands of another community – the snowboarders now paint the mountains. They reclaim territory and make a statement.
Spread the word:
Internet community, individuals can put their design up for online voting. The winning design will be chosen and a meeting point and slope is arranged.
At the meeting point, each boarder is given a tick and rides down the slope. The tick is fitted with a colors patron and a GPS system. The color is released when the boarder rides over a pixel defined by the GPS system. The overall design is created by the snowboarder ‘ actions. The pigment is an environmentally sound food coloring.
